Station 3: LOG WALK



Competitors are required to carry a log, weighing about 85kg, in each hand over a distance of 15 metres.
  • The competitor will only commence after the whistle blows.
  • The competitor must hold the logs by their handles and transport both logs at the same time.(ie. The competitor must carry and walk with 2 logs simultaneously. Throwing or swinging is not allowed.)
  • The competitor is allowed to place the logs down at any point to rest.
  • The competitor will be disqualified from the entire event if the logs fall outside his designated lane.
  • Timing will only be recorded at the point when both the competitor's legs (together with both logs) have crossed the finishing line.
    A maximum of 5 minutes is given for each participant to complete this event. Competitors who fail to complete the stipulated distance within 5 minutes will be given a score with the maximum timing. The competitor is to stop once the whistle is blown, indicating that the time limit has been reached, so that officials can record the distance covered.
  • A maximum of 5 minutes will be given to each participant who gives up before the timing is up. The distance covered will then be recorded.
    The distance covered will be measured from the starting point to the nearest point of either log closest to the starting line.

Station 2: RHINO PULL




Competitors are required to pull the SCDF Red Rhino, weighing about 4 tonnes, over a distance of 15 metres.

  • The competitor will only commence after the whistle blows.
  • The competitor must place the rope and harness over his shoulder and across his chest while his back faces the vehicle.
  • The competitor's hands cannot touch the ground while pulling the vehicle.
    The competitor cannot alter the distance between him and the vehicle.
  • Both of the competitor's feetmust cross the finish line before the timing is recorded.
  • A maximum of 5 minutes is given for each participant to complete this event. Competitors who fail to complete the stipulated distance within 5 minutes will be given a score with the maximum timing. The competitor is to stop once the whistle is blown, indicating that the time limit has been reached, so that officials can record the distance covered.
  • A maximum of 5 minutes will be given to each participant who gives up before the timing is up. The distance covered will then be recorded.
    The distance will be measured from the starting point to the rear tyres.

Preliminary Events Station 1: TYRE FLIP











Station 1: TYRE FLIP
Competitors are required to flip a tractor tyre weighing 235kg across a 15 metres in the shortest possible time.

  • The competitor will only commence after the whistle blows.

  • The comeptitor cannot roll or throw the tyre.

  • If the tyre accidentally rolls forward, the competitor must shift it back to the position where it started rolling before the competitor can continue.

  • The competitor must keep his tyre within his own lane. The competitor will be disqualified from the entire event if the entire tyre falls outside his designated lane.

  • Timing will be recored when the entire tyre crosses the finishing line.

  • A maximum of 5 minutes is given for each participant to complete this event. Competitors who fail to complete the stipulated distance within 5 minutes will be given a score with the maximum timing.
  • The competitor is to stop once the whistle is blown, indicating that the time limit has been reached, so that officials can record the distance covered.
  • A maximum of 5 minutes will be given to each participant who gives up before the timing is up. The distance covered will then be recorded.
    The distance covered will be measured from the starting point to the nearest point of the tyre closest to the starting line.

General Rules and Regulations for the Preliminary Round

1.Participants must be dressed in proper sports attire and should have put on all necessary safety apparel before the commencement of his attempt.

2.Participants are not allowed to choose the lanes as it will be allocated in randomly to the them. No changing of lanes is allowed unless approval is given by the officials.

3.Each participant is only allowed one attempt per station. There will be no retry of the station unless approval is given by the officials.

4.Any protest during the preliminary round must be lodged by filling up the protest form which will be available at the registration counter.

5. 10 participants and 2 reserves will be selected, based on the fastest timing for all 3 events, to be in the finals at HDB Hub Mall on 15 March 2008.

6.Finalised details will be sent to the 10 competitors via mail to inform them of the necessary details pertaining to the finals.

7.The finalists will also be informed on the training dates that will be provided for their own training and practice purposes by the organising committee.

8.In the event of a tie, the timing of the red rhino, log walk, tyre flip will be used in sequence to decide the winner based on the mentioned sequence.

9.A maximum of 5 minutes will be given for each uncompleted event once the official timing of 5 minutes is up. Participants must stop immediately once the official has indicated the end of the attempt. The distance covered will be recorded and only be used in the event that there is a tie in the timing as mentioned in clause (8).

10.Profanities, obscene and undesirable poses and/or gestures are prohibited. Participants who flout this rule will be disqualified.

11.HomeTeamNS and its organising committee will be indemnify from all liability against any legal suit or claim for any loss or damage of property whatsoever or bodily injury, illness or death, however caused, aggravated, sustained or otherwise.

12.The organiser reserves the right to change or add to any of the events, rules and regulations.
